In the Studio at Stitchknit

I have been busy sewing on clients’ orders, but have managed to get a few things completed and a new scarf on the needles.  Not sitting idly by here!

On My Hook

Lots of new projects these days at Stitchknit.  I’m not one of those who has ONE project going, and feels compelled to finish it before starting a new one.  I have at least 6 projects in the works…..not counting items for clients!

Started this new baby blanket pattern, worked from a corner out………with the rows each getting a bit longer, until I decide to start decreasing & work my way back to a corner.  Love diagonal projects!

Love the color combo, looks like spring flowers and reminds me of spumoni ice cream!   Notice the bit of burgundy yarn at the corner of the blanket?  This is just a temporary marker, letting me know which is the right side of my project.

Gray Cloche

My new favorite!

My new favorite!

I loved creating this hat.  Finally had some time to just ‘play with yarn’.  Had a couple starts, where I was looking for the right size hook to go with the yarn I wanted to see as a hat.  This combo gave me a hat that is not too lacy looking, but isn’t solid and heavy.  Weighs almost nothing!

And, since I can’t leave anything alone, I added a 2 layer crocheted flower on the side that dips down a bit, reminiscent of the hats in the 20′s.

My new favorite.  See it in my shop here.

More Hats

Making my way through the hats I had made for September.  Here are the three that were added to the shop this week:

I did manage to complete 15 hats in time for this months Hat Feature at Stitchknit.  Might even squeeze in a couple extra before the month is over.

I love making hats, especially knit ones………in the round.  Give me a project with double points and I’m a contented knitter.

Still have some hats on my list here, so will likely have a hat in progress for the rest of the year, adding a new one occasionally.  So far, my favorite is still the baby cloche in teal.….with the big bow!

Still in Hat Mode at Stitchknit

I added 3 new hats to the shop this week….  All of them knit, all adult sized.   Just finished another 2 crocheted hats, again……..sized for adults.  They need pictures and will be added in this coming week.  I know I aimed for a hat a day,  but life intervened.  But, I am going to end up with more than the 15 initial hats…..which is a good thing.  I love to see the new things in the shop, it is starting to look like it is ready for winter!

Wednesday: WIP

Works in Progress…..  aka   WIP to all the knitters & crocheters!

I’m feeling pressured to knit/crochet during all my waking hours…………and some of the hours I should be sleeping!

First, there is the on-going Christmas Stockings project:  Copying a vintage stocking, not once, or twice, but 4 times…….for a local client.  (pretty sure she is expecting these for Christmas!)  :)  I’ve got sock #1 off the needles and sock #2 is past the heel, heading towards the toe now.

Sock 1 & 2 moving right along.

Sock 1 & 2 moving right along.

These are made with wool yarn, and a touch of angora for the Santa beard, so they will need to be blocked when I’m done knitting.  At this point, they look like a messy bunch of knitting……

Alternating with the Stocking project, is my own self imposed challenge for September.  Yes, it comes right after August……….which is half over already!  This year, I’m attempting 30 Hats in 30 Days.  So far, I’ve completed hat number 9 and have the next 3 in progress….here’s a quick look at this weeks hats:

Back to work!

WIP’s

That’s work (or works) in progress, for those of you who aren’t up on your knitting & crocheting abbreviations.

I usually have 8-10 things going at once, but have just a couple with current pictures.  Vowing to get better at keeping the camera close to the knitting!

#7 in my Sept 30 Hats in 30 Days Event. Baby hat, crocheted in a shell pattern

Actually, I can only think of 2 other WIP’s here.  My always present sock knitting project bag in the van. Ready to knit on at a moments notice!  Picking up stitches for the heel stage on Sock #1.

And, a lacy, hot pink scarf that I apparently can’t knit on in public.  At least not yet.  Love the pattern and the yarn, but the 2 row pattern is apparently too much for me.  This one has been put on the back burner, for the no visiting, no movie watching sort of knitting time.  I will get this done if I have to hang up a Do Not Disturb sign by my knitting chair! :)

What are you knitting &/or crocheting these days?  Starting on holiday gifts yet?
