Small Business Saturday

Thank you

Thank you (Photo credit: Avard Woolaver)

I’m sure you’ve seen some of the PR, asking you to ‘shop small’ ………as in search out the small businesses in your community & do some of your shopping there instead of the malls or big-box stores.  Given the numbers about buying Made in the US, this makes even more sense.

I’d like to encourage you to go one better.  Shop smaller yet!  Being one of the thousands of sellers on Etsy, I have to tell you, most of them are really small businesses!   We all wear many hats.  Actually, most of us wear ALL the hats.

I’ve been joking about not having enough time, or not having a decent packaging & shipping department but I’m starting to realize just how big this little business is getting!  So, shop small.  And, when you do, know that you’re typically working with a one person (sometimes a whopping two person) operation!  Everything from designing, sourcing and shopping, to making the items and then packing and shipping………..all done by that one person with all the hats on!

If you’re one of the people who have visited my shop, I thank you!  If you’re one of the people who have made a purchase from Stitchknit, I can tell you…………You Made My Day!

Thank  you so much for Shopping Small!

  2. “Shop smaller!” I’ll vote for this. Small businesses are so important for our economy nowadays as jobs creators. We all need to do more to support s. businesses in our communities.
