That’s what we call things that just seem to ‘walk away’ from where anyone had seen them last.
The latest mia is a scarf I knit during the last Olympics. (can’t even remember if it was Summer or Winter) I do know the scarf exists and was totally finished, and even snapped a couple pictures…..
This piece was supposed to be listed in my Etsy shop before the holidays….but, I have still not found where I put it for safe keeping. Such fun to knit, huge bobbles and a gorgeous sangria red.
Anyone else have things that seem to have vanished into thin air??
I’m just settling into my summer schedule here, and sure enough, it’s almost over! Just 7 more days of foster kiddos summer work experience…..which means just 7 more days of being out of the house at 6:20AM to get him to the bus stop and the reverse at 6PM for the pick up.
The plus side of the schedule change has been the ‘found’ time while waiting for said kiddo.
Three shades of Gray: Crocheted Cowl, finished, and ready to add to my Etsy shop today.
Knit boot cuffs, actually finished the pair. Even have the ends woven in! They are waiting in line for pics…
Tea cozy: Also completed & on the tea pot here. Waiting in line for pics!
On the needles: Another Mary Poppins inspired scarf in the normal size for an adult….and a smaller version in a girls size
On the hook: My 2nd baby blanket using the Blackberry Salad pattern.
I had some comments about a recent post, where I mentioned one couldn’t have too many projects going at once. Just so you know………I’m equally as jazzed about finishing projects as starting them! Here’s a couple that are waiting in line for “real pictures”…..
Love this color….I call it electric fuchsia!
Love this pattern, it seems to make up so fast. Perfect take along project too.
So, this means I get to start a couple more new things, right??
First off, I have no idea how it got to be August. Our household added a teenage foster son in April and I’m going to blame the speed of life in general on him! :) I’ve been a foster parent for decades, so it’s not that I’m not used to this. I’m guessing it has more to do with the fact that I’m Old! I’m worn out before dinner most days.
Along with the busier schedule here at the house, I’m noticing a huge increase in my local business. Alterations, Repairs, Classes………..all up from this time last year. Actually, busier than any time, since I started doing this decades ago. I’m enjoying the work, it is great to love what one does! I shuffle my way to the studio, start the coffee pot and I’m ready for the day. Whoops! Forgot the summer part of the schedule. Teenager needs a ride to the bus for his summer job….that comes before coffee and the evening pick up run comes right at dinner time. Flexibility and a crock pot….. will get us through til school starts! 🙂
Have a new project in the works. A kid-friendly, Mary Poppins inspired scarf. Just in time for Halloween. This is truly for the tiniest Ms. Poppins followers…………a toddler size creation. Here’s a sneak peak:
Made with actual yarn, this tiny version should be in the shop by the end of the month.
Better get busy, August is flying by……
Off the needles, blocked and waiting for buttons!
I thought I had just the right buttons for this…….but no. I need something with more personality. So, this goes in my bag of items that need something that isn’t in the studio here at Stitchknit. The bag that needs to go to the store. This poses a difficulty, in that I truly do hate shopping.
And, this………….it too needs buttons. Nothing in the box of hundreds and hundreds of new buttons……..or the huge box of vintage buttons will work. Love vintage buttons, but when the design needs 4, of course……..I can only locate things I like that come with just 3!
This is truly a tough one to get a picture of. The yarn is a blend of wool and rayon and has the prettiest shimmer to it.
Off the hook here, just waiting for ends, then the border.
This is like the blanket listed here in the shop. I love this diagonal design. Easy to remember, great for projects on the go!
